Formerly managed and produced by the late, great JOEY RAMONE, THE INDEPENDENTS have performed almost non-stop, touring with bands such as THE RAMONES, MISFITS, VOODOO GLOW SKULLS,  CHEAP TRICK and THE QUEERS; just to name a few. THE INDEPENDENTS have seven releases under their belt and are currently working on a new full length scheduled to be released 2008.

There's just another week on The Independents Fall US tour so come check it out! We also have for sale our new CD "The Early Years, Demos 1993-1997". We are also repressing our latest full length CD "Eternal Bond".

The Independents - Eternal Bond

Finally, after several long years, the ghouls from the southern swampland have released fourteen new tracks. 'Eternal Bond' is an uncategorizable aural assault like no other. Describing the sound of The Independents is nearly impossible. I can tell you that you will hear some ska, some punk, some rock and roll, and even a little country. I cannot tell you which combination of the afore mentioned styles you will get at any given moment. This album can be a bit darker at times than their earlier releases, especially lyrically. But, don't let that to scare you off, this is better than the rest. They take you to the depths of places you probably don't want to be with songs like 'Hideaway' (my personal favorite) and 'Alone'. But, don't fret; they bring you back to the land of the living with 'Baby Doll'. Willy B. has a way with a guitar like no other. To be able to play so many different styles within one song… he just makes it seem so natural. The sound emanates from his as though it has been flowing through his bloodstream since birth. Evil's voice… What can I say about Evil's voice? It is one of the most mesmerizing and expressive voices that I have ever heard. The emotion coming from his soul could easily reach out from the speakers and pluck your still beating heart from its cavity deep in your chest. The softness of his voice on 'Lullaby' is enough to bring you to tears. The pain in 'Hideaway' will make you cringe with that same pain. You feel the heartache of loves lost in 'True' and 'White Feathers'. Evil Presly and Willy B. truly are The Independents. The emotion and soul that oozes from the pores of them are what make 'Eternal Bond' the album that it is. The darkness and tenderness are blended so as to envelope you and carry you to new places. I am guessing that after just one listen, you will go willingly.

My Hero Don Knotts Passed away.

Andy was one of his last visitors. May we all have a friendship like that. Rip Don!

We just wrote a very cool 60'ish style song called Don Knotts with Don sound clips in it. We didn't finish it in time to be on the new record. I was hoping to release it as an EP with some other songs. Thats why we started selling the Donzig shirt. It was to be the cover. I thought about sending it to his manager and try and get him to do some real vocals on it. I told Willy awhile back I had a feeling this was going to happen. Just sucks.

In other news our new CD " Eternal Bond" reached 22 on interpunk before they sold out. They should have more instock this Monday so for those of you who have not sunk your teeth into it, get it at INTERPUNK. Thanks to all of those who have. It has been overwhelming the number of orders we have gotten. For those of you who have ordered through Interpunk, please let us know what you think. They have a review section for each release on their site.

We are having a blow-out on our CD's to make some space for the new Eternal Bond CD ready for release on Feb 14/06. We reduced the prices on our CD's on our merch page and these CD's can also be picked up at INTERPUNK as well so make sure you grab them while they are still available. If you already have them then post a review on Interpunk and let those who don't know about us know what you think. We are going back out for a few more dates to end the year right. The show in Savannah  ,GA has been  rebooked for Dec 9TH. I know you all understand why we canned that show. For those of you who didn't know, Willy B lost his father on Nov 1st. These are for Gordon!

We received some bad news tonight. Looks like the shows in Trenton Ohio and Barrie Ontario have to now be cancelled at the last minute. Nothing to do with us as we want to play anywhere and everywhere. All other shows are still on so we will see you all soon.

The show tonight in Denver is off. We are snowed in and can't get anywhere becuase the hwy is closed. So we are stuck in the middle of nowhere with some booze and a hot tub. Hey all you Goons,

We regret to inform yall That Due to the tightening of security at our US borders, The Dangerfields will not be touring with us on our upcoming tour. Seems these guys were just to ugly to let in. Please take the time to check them out on their website  THE DANGERFIELDS and pick up some of their merch. These really are a great bunch of guys and a great band. We are really disappointed that they will not be out with us.

OK now back to the Biz at hand.

We hit the road in less then a week. Please those easily frightened and those with Heart Conditions stay home. This one is going to get Nasty! Willy B has been out of his cast for a few weeks and is throwing out some mean chops. LOOK OUT Don Knotts! The recording of Eternal Bond had to be pushed back to June because of this and the fact that Daniel Rey is in such High Demand. ( Damn you Nashville Pussy!) NO worries It worked out for the best, We now have more studio time to work with and Brian Mckenzie along with Daniel Rey on board.

More Dates will be posted on our soon to be all new website as they come in so keep checking. Can't wait to see you all again and please don't forget...

THE INDEPENDENTS are just putting the finishing touches on their upcoming North American tour so keep checking back here regularly for updated tour dates and to see if they will be in a city near you. In the meantime, there are 2 killer compitilation releases featuring The Independents that you don't want to miss. First off is Todos Somos Ramones put out by Rockaway Records (Argentina). This is possibly the best Ramones tribute album ever and features The Independents with the one and only Joey Ramone singing "Garden Of Serenity" recorded live at the Continental in NYC on December 12th, 1997.

In May, 2005 Continentalnyc.com Records will release Live at Continental – Best of NYC Vol. I & II. Both these compilations will feature live tracks by The Independents doing their own songs as well as Backing up Joey. Other artists that will be featured include Ramainz, Lunachicks, Waldos, Toilet Boys, and many other great bands that capture the spirit of the legendary Continental.
